In the 1980s (pre Windows 3.1), I was a big fanboy of the Commodore-Amiga Platform and it’s operating system. My departure from that world was due to Commodore filing bankruptcy and the emergence of really cool 486 based hardware. The Amiga had many graphics and architectural standards that influenced what we have and see today on modern OSes. However, there are many hobbyists today who still like a lot of the original concepts provided by the original Commodore Amiga OS and platform. Those enthusiasts have worked to create a hobbyist OS that runs on current and modern Intel CPUs that still keeps Commodore-Amiga OS 3.1 level source code compatibility and as a public project, it is pretty cool.
